New York State Appraisal Regulations Change 1-1-08:
Here's the Details as follows:

Presently the requirement to enter the appraisal field is 90 hours. (R-1, R-2, AQ-1, USPAP)

Effective 1-1-08 the requirement goes to 150 hours education alone

Presently Full License is 90 hours of Education

As of 1-1-08 the educational requirement becomes 150 hours of appraisal education

Presently, Certified Residential is 120 or 135 hours (License plus R-3 and R-4)
As of 1-1-08 the educational requirement becomes 200 hours of appraisal education plus an Associates Degree or 21 credit hours of requisite college courses

Presently Certified General is 185 hours (License plus G-1, 2, 3)

As of 1-1-08 the educational requirement becomes 200 hours of appraisal education plus a Bachelor Degree or 30 credit hours of requisite college courses
The State of NY has adopted a position that, if you meet the educational requirements (current regulations) before 1-1-08, they will grandparent your educational requirements.
The Test (State Exam) results "PASS" is valid for 2 years. Taking it now will allow you to use the current exam, and not be required to take the new exma effective 1-1-08
Experience for Licensed, Certified (Residential and General) has not changed
